After years of alleged Russian violations of the Treaty, President Trump announced on 20 October 2018 that the United States intended to withdraw from the Treaty. On 4 December the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo declared that the US found Russia to be in material breach of the Treaty and would suspend obligations in 60 days unless Russia returns to verifiable compliance.
In this evidence session the Committee takes evidence from Franklin Miller, a former US official with a distinguished record of service with the US Departments of State, Defense and the National Security Council staff.
