Defence Committee to question the Chief of the Defence Staff

On Tuesday 7 July at 14.30, the Defence Committee will question the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir Nick Carter on a broad range of issues relating to the ongoing work of the Committee.
Scope of the session
The session is expected to cover the role of Defence in the UK's pandemic response, the Armed Forces reliance on 5G, historic allegations against Service personnel, the Integrated Review, Defence Procurement and culture in the Armed Forces.
Chief of Defence Staff
General Sir Nick Carter assumed the role of Chief of Defence Staff in June 2018. Previously, he was Chief of the General Staff, leading the Army through the most recent Security and Defence Review in 2015. He joined the Army in 1977 and has served in Germany, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Bosnia and Kosovo and Afghanistan.
