Committee questions Schools Minister and Randstad director

The Education Committee hold two evidence sessions questioning Karen Guthrie, Programme Director of the National Tutoring Programme at Randstad. Then hold an accountability hearing with Schools Minister Robin Walker.

During the first session, Ms Guthrie will be questioned on Randstad’s performance in running the Government’s National Tutoring Programme. She will also be questioned about regional disparities in the number of children who have accessed the programme, and about the proportion of those children who receive free school meals.
The second part of the session will see Schools Minister Robin Walker questioned on a range of issues. These are likely to include the mitigations being implemented in schools to prevent the spread of Covid-19, such as the wearing of face masks and the vaccination programme for children aged 12 to 15.
The Minister is also likely to be asked about the progress of the Government’s Education Recovery Programme, and for his views on Randstad’s handling of the National Tutoring Programme.
