Committee to hold accountability hearings with Children’s Commissioner and Universities Minister

On Tuesday, the Education Committee will hold accountability hearings with the Children’s Commissioner for England and the Minister for Universities.

Purpose of the session

MPs are expected to ask Anne Longfield to reflect on her tenure as her term of office draws to a close, as well as the impact of coronavirus on children and young people and the relationship between her office and the Department for Education.

The Committee will then go on to take evidence from Michelle Donelan MP. Questions are likely to focus on the coronavirus outbreaks that have taken place in up to 45 universities and the circumstances for students isolating in university halls.
