Recruitment and retention of teachers: Committee announces report publication

The Education Committee publishes its Fifth Report of Session 2016-17, Recruitment and retention of teachers (HC 199), at 00.01am on Tuesday 21 February 2017.

Inquiry background

The Committee's inquiry examined a range of issues relating to teacher recruitment and retention, including teacher workload, the status of teachers, data on teacher supply, and teacher training and continuing professional development.

During the course of its inquiry the Committee heard from teachers' organisations, researchers and learned societies, as well as representatives from the College of Teaching, Ofsted and the Minister Nick Gibb MP.
