Education Committee

The Education Committee today publishes a letter to the Secretary of State for Education calling for detail about work the Government is undertaking to support the higher education sector in both the short and long term. 

 The Education Committee will question the leaders of Skills England about progress with establishing the Government agency, which Ministers hope will increase the take up of apprenticeships, tackle skills shortages in key sectors and drive economic growth.

The Education Committee will take a deep dive into the state of the higher education (HE) sector as a growing number of UK universities face financial difficulties. 

Education Committee Chair Helen Hayes MP has today announced a deep dive evidence session examining funding issues in the higher education sector.
