Academic experts give evidence to vision of EU reform inquiry

On Tuesday 24 November the European Union Select Committee meets academic experts from King's College London and the London School of Economics to hear their views on the UK Government's vision for EU reform. This follows the publication of the Prime Minister's letter to the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, outlining the Government's priorities.

The evidence session takes places on Tuesday 24 November in Committee Room 4, Palace of Westminster.

The Committee are likely to ask the witnesses:
- whether they have a clear understanding of the Government's reform agenda
- how such reforms can be made legally binding
- whether the Prime Minister is right to state that the British people "do not believe" in an "ever closer union among the peoples of Europe"
- how safeguards for non-eurozone Member States can be created
- whether the Government's wish to "control migration from the European Union" is a challenge for the EU as a whole, or a uniquely British preoccupation.
