Correspondence with Ministers

11 September 2020

Scrutiny – examining the implications for the UK of proposed EU laws and policies – is the core work of the European Union Committee. Much of this scrutiny is conducted by means of correspondence between the Committee and Government ministers.

A new edition of Correspondence with Ministers is published every few months. Information on scrutiny work may be found on the EU Select Committee and Sub-Committee web pages.

If you would like to read the Government's explanatory memoranda on the proposals sifted for further scrutiny, you can read them on the Department for Exiting the European Union's European Memoranda Search page
