Possible questions

Possible questions the Committee may put to the witnesses include:

• What is your assessment of the Government's intention to stipulate the date of "exit day" in the Bill?
• There has been considerable discussion about the possibility of a transitional period. Do you consider that the EU (Withdrawal) Bill adequately caters for such a possibility, or would further legislation be required?
• Clause 5 states that the Charter of Fundamental Rights will no longer apply in domestic law. However, it also goes on to state that any fundamental rights or principles which exist irrespective of the Charter are not affected. Does getting rid of the Charter but retaining the underlying fundamental rights and principles, mean that we lose nothing in practice?
• What do you consider to be the implications of the Bill for the balance of the power within the Union and the future of the devolution settlements, with particular reference to clause 11?
