Purpose of the session
The cross-party group of MPs will question witnesses over two panels.
In the first panel, representatives from Rethink Mental Illness, Carers UK, and the Care and Support Alliance will be asked for their views on the Government’s plans for funding the sector and how individuals pay for their care. They will also be asked about support for unpaid carers, and for views on what should be included in the Government’s upcoming social care white paper.
The second panel, including witnesses from Age UK, Alzheimer’s Society, and Disability Rights UK, will also be asked for their views on the Government’s funding and charging reforms and the upcoming white paper, as well as about the integration of health and social care.
In the opening evidence session for this inquiry, on Monday 25th October, the LUHC Committee heard from leading voices from the adult social care sector and from local government representatives.
