Evidence session with Building Safety Minister on draft Building Safety Bill

The Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee holds the final session of its pre-legislative scrutiny of the draft Building Safety Bill on Monday 19 October when it takes evidence from Minister for Building Safety and Communities, Lord Greenhalgh.

Purpose of the session

The session will investigate the key provisions of the legislation including the creation of a Building Safety Regulator and the impact on key industry sectors and the wider pace of change in improving building safety.

The Committee will also examine the approach of the Government to identifying financing solutions that protect leaseholders from unaffordable costs for the remediation of buildings.
