Committee to question Dame Judith Hackitt on draft Building Safety Bill

The Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee takes evidence from Dame Judith Hackitt, and representatives of the Health and Safety Executive, on Monday 5 October, as it continues pre-legislative scrutiny of the draft Building Safety Bill.

Purpose of the session
The session will investigate how well the draft legislation meets the recommendations of the Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, led by Dame Hackitt and commissioned following the Grenfell Tower fire.
The Committee will also examine the progress in establishing the Building Safety Regulator within the Health and Safety Executive, as well as the proposals for its formal powers and responsibilities.
