Committee examine finance industry and housing strategy bodies on modern methods of construction

28 March 2019

The Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee continues its inquiry into Modern Methods of Construction on Monday 1 April when it takes evidence from representatives of the finance industry and housing strategy bodies.

Purpose of the session

The session will investigate the perspective of insurers and mortgage lenders on Modern Methods of construction, particularly in comparison to more traditional forms of construction. This will include how they assess long term durability, resistance to fires and repairability, as well as complying with business regulations.

The Committee will also look at the role Modern Methods of Construction plays in the strategy of large housing providers, particularly the challenges faced in allowing greater uptake such as supply chain or skills.
