Committee raises state pension age concerns

On 30 November, permission was granted for a judicial review of the increase in the women's state pension age. But following this announcement, the Committee received evidence that women who had submitted formal complaints regarding the maladministration of the Department in introducing these changes, had had their cases closed by the Independent Case Examiner.
The Work and Pensions Committee Chair wrote to Guy Opperman MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Pensions and Financial Inclusion, to understand the basis for this decision and the number of people affected. The series of correspondence is published here:
