Frank Field writes to regulator about Bernard Matthews scheme

Frank Field, Chair of the Work and Pensions Committee, has written to the Chief Executive of the Pensions Regulator to inquire about the Bernard Matthews pension scheme, which is set to be moved into the Pension Protection Fund after a pre-pack administration.
This will result in reduced benefits for Bernard Matthews pensioners. Mr Field asks what regulatory action has been taken regarding the scheme and what steps will be taken to prevent this mechanism being used to prevent other sponsoring employers divesting themselves of pension liabilities through this route.
