MPs to hear from Wales’ defence and cyber SMEs

Building on evidence heard through its Defence industry in Wales inquiry, the Welsh Affairs Committee will hear from suppliers and SMEs within the defence and security industries in Wales.

Arcanum Information Security, Qioptiq and Tritech will appear before the Committee in a session that explores the companies’ relationships with larger defence companies from across Wales. The session will consider the opportunities for smaller companies to enter defence supply chains and their contribution to innovations. The Ministry of Defence’s (MOD’s) engagement with SMEs is also likely to be raised, particularly in light of its target that 25% of its procurement spend should go directly or indirectly to SMEs.

Arcanum, Qioptiq and Tritech operate in different sectors: cyber security, opto-electronics and aerospace.
