First Minister Mark Drakeford to appear before MPs

24 November 2022

The First Minister of Wales, Rt Hon Mark Drakeford MS, will be appearing before the Welsh Affairs Committee to discuss a wide range of issues including renewable energy in Wales and the impact of the recent Autumn Statement on the nation.

During the evidence session, members of the Committee are also likely to explore intergovernmental relations between the UK and Welsh governments, and constitutional issues including the Sewel Convention and Senedd reform.

Last month, the Welsh Government announced plans for a publicly-owned renewable energy company, to scale up the roll-out of renewable energy. This is of particular interest to the Committee, which has conducted recent inquiries on renewable energy in Wales and grid capacity, and has an inquiry ongoing into floating offshore wind (FLOW).
