Cost of living, freeports, Newport Wafer Fab and nuclear energy on the agenda as MPs set to quiz Secretary of State for Wales

17 June 2022

The Welsh Affairs Committee will quiz Secretary of State for Wales, Rt Hon Simon Hart MP, and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Wales, David TC Davies MP, as it holds a routine evidence session on the work of the Wales Office.

The evidence session offers the opportunity for Committee members to discuss a wide range of topical issues affecting the people of Wales. The session is likely to cover issues that the Committee is already exploring as part of its inquiries – such as nuclear energy, freeports and tourism in Wales – and further issues ranging from the cost of living to intergovernmental relations.

This evidence session also marks the annual opportunity to scrutinise the budget allocation for the Welsh Government before UK Government spending is agreed by the House of Commons.
