Impact of Brexit on Welsh freight and haulage industries examined

12 November 2018

The Welsh Affairs Committee holds an evidence session focusing on the impact of Brexit on the freight and road haulage industries.

Welsh ports are vital for freight between Ireland, Wales, England, continental Europe and other continents. Roll on – roll off ports, such as the one at Holyhead, facilitate seamless travel from one side of the Irish sea to the other. There is concern that after the UK leaves the EU, freight movements at Welsh ports could experience friction.

Purpose of the Session

In this session the Welsh Affairs Committee will examine the economic implications for freight and road haulage in Wales and the unique challenges Welsh trade could face after leaving the EU with industry experts.
