Welsh Affairs Committee holds the final session of its inquiry into Wales and the Armed Forces

Background
In its inquiry into into Wales and the Armed Forces the Committee has heard concerns that the planned closure of barracks in Wales could lead to the armed forces playing less of a role in Welsh society.
The Committee is concerned this is impacting on local communities who historically relied on the armed forces for employment, and will assess how fairly Wales is represented within the defence estate.
Additionally, the Committee has heard that armed forces recruitment centres are being closed in Wales, despite recruitment targets being missed. The Committee is concerned this could be making it harder for young people in Wales to pursue a military career.
Purpose of the session
In this session, the Committee will question the Minister for Defence Procurement, Stuart Andrew MP, on the issues that have been raised throughout the inquiry. Three senior armed forces leaders will also give evidence - Air Marshal Richard Knighton, Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff (Military Capability), Major General Ralph Wooddisse CBE MC, Assistant Chief of the General Staff and Lieutenant General Richard Nugee CBE, Chief of Defence People.
