Severn River Crossings examined in public session in Chepstow

The Welsh Affairs Committee is holding a public event in Chepstow on Monday 13 June 2016 as part of their inquiry into the future of the Severn River Crossings. Members of the public are invited to come along to share their experiences of using the crossings and propose improvements that would make their journey easier.

- "Town hall meeting" – hearing comments and concerns of Severn Crossings users
The Committee are hearing from representatives of the Freight Transport Association. The crossings are a vital link for the haulage industry between South Wales and England and the Committee look forward to hearing their point of view.

Chair's comment
Ahead of the event, Committee Chair David TC Davies commented:
"As the Severn River Crossings near a return to public ownership we felt it was important to understand how those who used them on a daily basis felt about the service they provided. We will also be looking at the potential for improvements, such as installing an electronic pre-pay system, and how they could improve people's journeys."
