Committee approves appointment of Jonathan Hall to FPC and reappointments of Andy Haldane and Silvana Tenreyro to MPC

The Treasury Committee has today published three reports:

• The appointment of Jonathan Hall to the Bank of England's Financial Policy Committee
• The reappointment of Andy Haldane to the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee
• The reappointment of Prof. Silvana Tenreyro to the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee

The Committee held the appointment and reappointment sessions on 20 July 2020 and is satisfied that all three witnesses have the professional competence and personal independence to be appointed or reappointed.

The Committee therefore consents to Mr Hall's appointment and Mr Haldane's and Prof. Tenreyro's reappointments and wishes them every success in their roles.
