Focus of the session

MPs hear evidence from haulage industry representatives on the effect that Operation Stack has on the haulage industry and what can be done to improve conditions for hauliers during Stack.

Kent County Council, Kent Police and Highways England answer questions on how well Operation Stack performs and on what they have done to explore alternatives or possibilities for improvement.

Dover District Council and Shepway District Council give evidence on the effect that Operation Stack has on communities in the area and how proposed improvements to Stack will change the situation.
