Committee question Chair of Government rail review

This is a one-off oral evidence session with the independent chair of the Government's rail review, Keith Williams.

Focus of the session

The review was set up following the timetable chaos of May 2018,  to examine the structure of the rail industry and make recommendations for reform of how passenger services are delivered.
 
As announced in the Queen's Speech, the review's findings and recommendations will be published in a Government white paper this Autumn.

Members are expected to question Keith Williams on: 

  • How his review has worked
  • Emerging conclusions on how the rail industry should be reformed
  • Expectations on how his recommendations should be taken forward
