Committee Chair responds to Bus Users UK report

12 June 2019

Commenting on a report from Bus Users UK on reversing the decline in rural buses, Chair of the Transport Committee, Lilian Greenwood MP, said:

“Buses provide people and communities with vital links to work, education and the services they need. As we pointed out in our recent report, without them there is a risk that communities can become isolated where there is no affordable alternative means of transport.

“We welcome Bus Users UK's contribution to the debate and look forward to receiving the Government's response to our recommendations for action to halt the decline in bus use.”

The Transport Committee's report on the health of the bus market was published on 22nd May and is available here.
