Committee approves Electoral Commission and LGBCE five year plans
31 March 2020
The Speaker's Committee on the Electoral Commission met on 24 March to consider the Main Estimates for 2020-21 of the Electoral Commission, and the Local Government Boundary Commission for England.
The Committee also considered both organisations' corporate plans for the next five years. The Committee decided that the Estimates and plans were consistent with the economical, efficient and effective discharge by the organisations of their functions.
The documents will therefore be laid before the House of Commons in accordance with the relevant Acts of Parliament (for the Electoral Commission, the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000, and for the LGBCE, the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009).
