The Scottish Affairs Committee will ask the Minister for the Constitution about whether Brexit has exposed the weaknesses of the current intergovernmental machinery, and how well the two governments have worked together since the referendum. The Committee will also consider the potential reforms to improve the relationship, as well as Whitehall's understanding of devolution and how that impacts on joint working.
In previous sessions the Committee has heard from academics specialising in politics and constitutional affairs, international experts, as well as former ministers and officials who have first-hand experience of joint working and cooperation between the two governments. The minister's appearance marks the finale of the Committee's inquiry into intergovernmental relations.
