Tobacco companies and academics questioned on e-cigarettes

The Science and Technology Committee continues its inquiry on e-cigarettes. This Session hears from four tobacco companies about their own research on the health effect of e-cigarette devices and the second panel examines the toxicity of e-cigarettes, and how puffing behaviours, settings of the device or other factors may affect the toxicity.

The Committee held its first session on e-cigarettes on the 9 January 2018, hearing from academics about the current research findings around the harmfulness around e-cigarettes, its potential as a smoking cessation tool and its possible “gate way” effect on smoking.
