The Science and Technology Committee will hear from the Former Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State about the Government’s plans to establish a new research funding agency.

Purpose of the session

The session will explore the Government's plans to establish a new research funding agency, the Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA) and the legislation currently before Parliament to establish this agency.

The session will also be an opportunity to explore issues relating to science funding and the research and development system.

Last month the Committee published a report with its findings on the proposed new research funding agency.
