Purpose of the session

Two panels of experts take part in the session. The first panel looks at the practical challenges of undertaking research into gene editing, and how this translates into NHS treatment while taking account of patient perspectives. The second panel looks in greater detail at the ethical, regulatory and international issues surrounding innovative genome editing techniques.
