Work of the Science Minister and Government Chief Scientific Adviser examined

The new Government Chief Scientific Adviser, Dr Patrick Vallance, has now been in post for eight months. This session is an opportunity for the Committee to ask the new GCSA about his aims in the role, the priorities for the Government Office for Science and the work of the Departmental Chief Scientific Adviser network.

The Committee will also ask for the GCSA's views related to its recent and ongoing inquiries into ‘research integrity', ‘quantum technologies', the ‘balance and effectiveness of research and innovation spending' and ‘technologies for meeting Clean Growth emissions reduction targets'.
