Patients must be central to thinking on health and care funding

4 July 2018

Public Accounts Committee Chair Meg Hillier MP has commented on today's National Audit Office report on the health and social care interface.

The Committee Chair, Meg Hillier MP, comments:

"Health and social care is at a vital crossroads. But with the two sectors operating under separate regimes, achieving true integration will be no mean feat.

With the promised extra funding for the NHS from next April, we need to be clear if this will be matched for social care.

When discussing the money, the Government has got to start putting the patient at the centre of its thinking."
