The Committee Chair, Meg Hillier MP, comments:
"Businesses need certainty about how customs systems will work after we leave the EU.
But a number of risks remain for HMRC to not only deliver its new Customs Declaration Service but to give traders time to adapt to a new system. The programme is running to the wire.
And CDS is just a small part of what HMRC and Government needs to do to be Brexit-ready. The Government has a mountain to climb to deliver safe, secure borders in time."
