Former Deputy Speakers to give evidence to the Procedure Committee

• Natascha Engel, former Deputy Speaker (2015-17)
• Baroness (Dawn) Primarolo, former Deputy Speaker (2010-15)

Panel 2 - 3.30pm

• Rt Hon. Nigel Evans, former Deputy Speaker (2010-13 and 2020-24)
• Baroness (Eleanor) Laing, former Deputy Speaker (2013-24)
• Baroness (Rosie) Winterton, former Deputy Speaker (2017-24)

Both panels will be asked about their experience of participating in House elections and being elected under the system proposed by the then Procedure Committee in a 2010 report.

The second panel will also be asked about their experience of using call lists and electronic voting during the Covid-19 pandemic, to gather evidence for the committee's inquiries on those topics.

The evidence session will be broadcast on Parliament Live from 3pm on 23rd April.
