Purpose of the session

This is the second evidence session in this inquiry. On 1 March the Committee heard from David Cameron and Lord Peter Ricketts, who were respectively the Prime Minister and National Security Adviser when the National Security Council was established in 2010.

In Monday's session, the Committee will examine Mrs May and Lord Philip Hammond on their experiences in managing national security from their perspectives as former cabinet ministers and prime minister. The session will also allow the Committee to discuss with them aspects of the national security machinery that were covered in the Government's recently published 'Integrated Review'.
