Liaison Committee sets out themes for first session with Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer MP

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s debut session on December 19, the Liaison Committee has mapped out the core areas for questions.

Select Committee Chairs will focus on growth and the economy; public services and plan for change; and global affairs and security.
The session will begin at 14.30 and will run for 90 minutes. It is an opportunity for chairs of select committees to question the Prime Minister on matters of public policy.
Who will be questioning the Prime Minister?
Dame Meg Hillier MP will chair the session, which will involve the following select committee chairs:
Growth and the economy
Liam Byrne MP, Alistair Carmichael MP, Dame Caroline Dinenage MP, Florence Eshalomi MP, Toby Perkins MP
Public services and plan for change
Debbie Abrahams MP, Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP, Helen Hayes MP
Global affairs and security
Dame Karen Bradley MP, Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi MP, Emily Thornberry MP
The running order will be decided on the day.
