Liaison Committee: Topics set out for questions to Prime Minister

The Liaison Committee has mapped out the expected areas of questions for the session with the Prime Minister on December 19.
The Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak MP, is set to face questions on global affairs, economic issues, COP28 and energy concerns.
Chairs from more than a dozen of the House of Commons’ select committees will take part. The following topics have been agreed for the session, which usually lasts around 90 minutes. The order of questioning is determined on the day.
Global issues:
- Karen Bradley MP, Procedure
- Sir William Cash MP, European Scrutiny
- Sarah Champion MP, International Development
- Dame Diana Johnson MP, Home Affairs
- Alicia Kearns MP, Foreign Affairs
Economic issues:
- Liam Byrne MP, Business and Trade
- Dame Caroline Dinenage MP, Culture, Media and Sport
- Sir Robert Goodwill MP, Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
- Caroline Nokes MP, Women and Equalities
- Iain Stewart MP, Transport
- Sir Stephen Timms MP, Work and Pensions
COP28 and energy issues:
- Angus Brendan MacNeil MP, Energy Security and Net Zero
Dame Meg Hillier MP, Public Accounts, will ask questions on cross-cutting subjects.
The Liaison Committee includes all the chairs from the House of Commons select committees and is chaired by Sir Bernard Jenkin MP.
