Liaison Committee to question the Prime Minister

The questioning will focus on two themes as follows:

• Prospects for growth in the economy
• Overseas intervention and the military capacity to support it

The meeting will be at 4pm, in the Grimond Room, Portcullis House; it is expected to last for up to one and a half hours

This represents a change of approach for the Committee, with a smaller group of Committee Chairs questioning the Prime Minister.

Chair of the Liaison Committee, Rt Hon Sir Alan Beith MP, said:

"We welcome the fact that the Prime Minister has agreed to appear before us three times a year rather than two. These shorter sessions focusing on fewer topics should enable us to question him in greater depth, and in a more concentrated way."

The Liaison Committee is made up of 33 Chairs of Select Committees.
