Justice Committee: weekly update

At the end of sitting weeks the Justice Committee publishes a brief summary of its activities in the form of a weekly update.

This week, we held a private informal meeting on the Ministry of Justice's spring supplementary estimates.

Future business 

The next meeting of the Committee is on 26 March 2019.

We will take evidence on progress in the implementation of the Lammy Review's recommendations, relating to the treatment of, and outcomes for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals in the criminal justice system.

The first panel of witnesses (from 10.00am) is made up of:

  • Laurie Hunte, Criminal Justice Programme Manager, Barrow Cadbury Trust
  • Jessica Mullen, Policy Manager, Clinks
  • Jabeer Butt, Chief Executive Officer, Race Equality Foundation
  • Nina Champion, Director, Criminal Justice Alliance.

From approximately 10.45am, we will take evidence from David Lammy MP.
