Purpose of the session
The Committee examines a range of subjects relating to the work and performance of the Ministry of Justice, including:
- The Secretary of State's vision for the Department
- Prisons, including their population, safety and staffing
- Probation, including the Government's Transforming Rehabilitation programme
- Legal Aid
- Courts
- Brexit
- Financing of the Department, based on the Ministry's 2016–17 Annual Report and Accounts.
