The Justice Committee questions the Secretary of State for Justice on the work of the Ministry of Justice.

Purpose of the session

The Committee examines a range of subjects relating to the work and performance of the Ministry of Justice, including:

  • The Secretary of State's vision for the Department
  • Prisons, including their population, safety and staffing
  • Probation, including the Government's Transforming Rehabilitation programme
  • Legal Aid
  • Courts
  • Brexit
  • Financing of the Department, based on the Ministry's 2016–17 Annual Report and Accounts.
