Minister questioned on the work of the Prison Service

The Justice Committee asks the new Prisons and Probation Minister about her priorities and recent policy announcements from MOJ, Number 10 and HM Treasury, relating to prisons, including:
- The content of the Queen's Speech relating to prisons;
- The condition of the prison estate and the announcement of an additional 10,000 places;
- Safety and security;
- Female offenders; and
- IPP prisoners.

There is no system of tickets or advance booking for seats in the public section of the committee room, but there is normally no problem in seating all members of the public who wish to attend.
