Purpose of session
As Nick Hardwick hands over to Peter Clarke as HM Chief Inspector of Prisons, the Committee plans to explore with them, and with senior officials from the Ministry of Justice, issues concerning the relationship between HMIP and the Ministry, including the level of financial, administrative and operational independence of the Inspectorate from the Ministry.
