28 May 2020
In light of the Covid-19 outbreak, the Justice Committee will have an opportunity to seek updates on the effect Covid-19 has had on the youth justice system. This session will look into the impact of Covid-19 on the Youth Courts, the Youth Secure estate, and children under the supervision of Youth Offending Teams. Aside from Covid-19, the session will additionally cover the changes to the youth justice population in the past ten years, and how the youth justice system has adapted to these changes (specifically focusing on the suitability of the youth secure estate).
